Certification

At Alto, we go beyond our internal quality culture, as we place our brand´s reliability and certainty in the hands of external specialists, which verify and validate the implementation of standards in our products.

In order to give you a major confidence, fall protection equipment must have a third party quality certificate which guarantees that your equipment is manufactured under standards that comply guidelines that must be followed.

Currently, our manufacture facilities has an active Quality Management System, audited and certified under the ISO 9001-2015 Standard, in addition to the implementation of the ANSI and EN Standards in every one of our processes and our fall protection laboratory has EMA accreditation under ISO 17025.

How can I make sure that my fall protection equipment is truly certified?

Enter the Certifying Organism web page, look for the “Certificate”, paste the certification number, and write down the manufacturer’s name. In our case, the Certifying Organism is ICONTEC, visit its web page and check our certificate.

What requirements must the manufacturer meet in order to certify a product?

Step 1. The manufacturer must have a Quality Management System (QMS)
Step 2. They must implement the standards by which they desire to manufacture their products (ANSI).
Step 3. They must have an accredited testing laboratory.

Which is the manufacturer's certification process?

An auditor is sent to verify the QMS and manufacturing process of the product, going through all departments: Human Resources, Design, Purchase, Manufacture, Warehouse, etc.  He takes a sample from our warehouse and from our clients, and sends them to an accredited laboratory to be tested under required standards. Results are ready and sent to the auditor. If the audit is favorable and the laboratory test is positive, the certifying entity issues a quality certificate known as a “Third Party Certificate”.

What should I revise to confirm a quality certificate's veracity?

  1. Logo of the Entity which issued the certificate.
  2. Who is the accreditation entity and its accreditation number. You can check it on their website with the accreditation number.
  3. See who certifies, that is, the name of the manufacturing company.
  4. Under what standard does it certify (which means that all subsections that conforms it have been fulfilled).
  5. Check certification´s validity.
  6. Documentary annex (includes the list of certified products).
